After photographing the Milky Way last Thursday night with my friend Adam Thompson we went back out for sunrise at Chimney Top to see if we could get some decent light on Half Moon Rock. We had some nice fog early and perfect lighting as the sun painted Half Moon with a warm glow.

With storms passing thru Versailles an hour or so before sunset I had high hopes for good conditions. Unfortunately some low level clouds ruined any chance of afterglow, but I was able to catch good light 30 minutes before.
I spent a raining morning on the dam at Mill Creek Lake on a recent trip to the Red River Gorge. I went with a 3 shot focus stack and it turns out I should’ve taken 5-7 shots to get everything tack sharp.
I had a chance to visit Lake Tahoe recently and I have to say, it was one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen! One Thai particular day I was at Sand Harbor just as a line of thunder snow moved thru the area.
